With the 1st outing of the New Intrepid Storm, by ex MBKC Snr Rotax Champion Dan Chesters, the weekend got off to a great start! The new chassis Stormed to the win in heat 1, finished 4th in heat 2 and despite a DNF in heat 3 (through no fault of his own), he started 5th on the grid but was soon in 3rd. Gradually hunting down his prey and coming round the final bend he took 2nd place! Despite being forced onto the grass by the kart he had just overtaken Dan crossed the line in 3rd, he was subsequently re-instated into 2nd!
The result shows what excellent value this kart is at £1295+vat (rolling chassis only) £2995+vat (rolling chassis + a New 2009 Rotax engine) or againat £2995+vat a ‘Special Offer’ of Chassis + Awning Space/Support* for 2010 Club Championship! (2 days per month at circuit of your choice – circuits TBC)
Not only did Dan pilot his own kart, but he also continued to mechanic for his driver Alex O'Sullivan, who on his Intrepid Cruiser V was leading the Snr Rotax Championship! He continued to do well finishing 2rd in heat 1, won in heat 2, 2nd in heat 3 and also smashed the lap record! He then led from start to finish of the final sealing the Snr Rotax Championship with 2 rounds still to go!
To complete the weekend the team, again with 2 rounds still to go, Andy Potter also sealed the Rotax 177 Championship.

In order to continue to improve our appearance and professionalism your mechanics will been wearing these items also! The pictures are only for guidance but the prices will vary slightly according to numbers ordered. Consumables - Griffin Racing issue drivers (if required) with Blue Roll, Chain Lube, WD40 and Brake Cleaner at each meeting – the savings on buying these in bulk are passed on!!!! These are charged at £10.00 + vat†
Fuel/Oil - To maintain a consistency of race fuel/oil mixture we provide all fuel to all max drivers. for this we will charge drivers £20 + vat†, this charge will cover all 2 days race fuel/oil, this charge will also inc the generator/compressor fuel. This will ensure every driver has the same fuel mix and make any engine issues easier to identify.
† We reserve the right to increase/decrease the charges as and when consumables/fuel etc change
2009 was another great season for Griffin Racing with 2 of our drivers, Alex O'Sullivan and Andrew Potter, picking up coveted MBKC championship trophies.
As well as picking up the two championships we also had great results across the 3 circuits.

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton dropped into the Intrepid/Griffin Racing awning whilst at the launch of the 2009 Formula Kart Stars.
Griffin Racing went along to PF International for the relaunch of the Stars of Tomorrow championship, which has been renamed Formula Kart Stars after partnering up F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.
Lewis came along to the event to meet and give advice to all the up and coming kart racers including our Intrepid driver George Cosgrove. Though he has since risen through the motorsport ranks, the 24-year-old has always retained a keen interest in the category in which he was first discovered.
For the 2011 season we've made a few changes to Griffin Racing.
